Introductory talks all last 45mins to an hour and are charged at the Introductory rate of £25. All talks are aimed at people new to the subject and will give a basic introduction to the subject. Please see the previous page for booking forms and more details.

      These talks give a broad overview of WYAS. They include an introduction to the service, how to use the service and a section on collections of interest (this part can be tailored to a particular geographical or interest area)

      Giving a basic introduction and overview on how to start your family history this talks looks at original documents, microfiche, websites and other key sources to researching your family history.

      This talk gives a basic introduction and overview on how to trace the history of property. Introducing the Registry of Deeds at Wakefield, this talk also provides a basic introduction to starting to research house history.

      A basic introduction and overview on how to start research to local history and how this is related to local and family history.

Introduction to conservation, archive materials and storage.
      This talk gives an insight into conservation, archive materials and good storage. A member of the conservation team will introduce this area of work.
