Talks
To help promote the service, collections and activities WYAS have developed a range of talks. Most talks take place on an evening, but we try to be as flexible as possible in when and where we can offer talks. We try to fulfil all requests however priority will be given to people and organisations new to the service. Talks can only be given to groups and organisations based in the West Yorkshire area. Charges are levied for this service, however charges may be waived for new users from voluntary and community service organisations. For details of charges please visit our Community Involvement charges page
WYAS offers 5 introductory talks and a selection of more specialised talks. It is also possible for talks to be designed specifically for a group.
Some of the specialist talks that are available include;
- Conservation Case Studies
- Victorian Religion
- Church of England History
- Specialised Family History Topics
- Building Registers and Plans
Talks offered depend on staff specialisms and availability. For more details of the talks available or to discuss the possibility of a specially devised talk please contact the Education and Outreach Manager on educationandoutreach@wyjs.org.uk or call on 0113 289 8222
To book a talk download a booking form and return it to the appropriate office by email or post; or call the office nearest to your meeting place. For contact details of the offices please click here
It is not possible for WYAS to guarantee that all requests from organisations can be delivered, so we have developed criteria for deciding which requests to prioritise. To view this policy please visit the Policy and Strategy Documents in the 'About Us' section. Priority will be give to new users.
