Closure Week for Collections Work
All five offices of the West Yorkshire Archive Service will be closed for collections work from Monday 1st March to Friday 5 th March 2010.
During this time staff will be working on improving access to the local authority collections in our care.
Staff will continue to respond to urgent written and telephone enquiries during this period.
Reader Registration.
We are now members of the County Archive Research Network (CARN) readers’ ticket scheme. Please bring your CARN readers’ ticket with you when you visit. If you do not have a ticket please bring official proof of ID which includes your name, address and signature.

Appointments recommended
Some archives are held offsite and our searchroom may be subject to unplanned closure because of staffing difficulties.
From December 2009 West Yorkshire Archive Service staff and Kirklees Local Studies staff will be working more closely together to improve services for those interested in local history sources.
Huddersfield Local Studies staff will provide advice and guidance on sources and access to the Archive Service’s finding aids.
Varying levels of service will be available on different days of the week:
Full Archive Service with ‘ask the specialist’:
Monday 9.30am - 5.00pm
Tuesday 9.30am - 5.00pm
third Saturday in the month 9.00am -1.00pm
Saturdays with full service 2010: 16 January, 20 February, 20 March, 17 April
Archive Service with pre-ordered documents:
Thursday 9.30am - 5.00pm
Access to Archive Service catalogue with advice and guidance from Local Studies staff:
Wednesday 9.30am - 5.00pm
Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
Saturday 9.00am - 4.00pm
