Community involvement

The West Yorkshire Archive Service aims to reach the widest possible audience and engage community based projects and activities whilst working to bring as many people as possible into contact with archives. We also offer services to allow more people to learn and make discoveries about archives and what WYAS can offer.

Nowthen.org

The main point of contact for our outreach activities is our www.nowthen.org website. The website hosts community archives, oral histories and other research allowing it to reach a wider audience. We also have the provision for uploading your own collections or contribute to existing ones. This site also contains the This is Our History community archives that we have helped to develop. We are keen to link to other community based sites to allow wider access. Please visit the site or contact the Head of Audience Engagement at educationandoutreach@wyjs.org.uk for more information or advice.
