Projects
Over the years WYAS has worked on many different project working with new and different audiences. These projects have included, exhibitions, promotional stalls, workshops and much more.
The This is Our History Project worked with community groups to develop online digital community archives. These archives consist of photos, images, reminiscence, both written and sound clip and will start to include video. This project has so far worked with groups in the Beeston area of Leeds, Dewsbury and Bradford bringing together valuable collection, stories and memories of the community.
The http://www.nowthen.org website is a communtiy site which can be added to by anyone with interesting and historical inforation about West Yorkshire. This site also contains community archives that WYAS have created as part of the 'This is Our History' project.
WYAS also supports and partners other organisations. In the next year there are plans for an exhibition at the Grand Theatre, Leeds alongside workshops and other activities. This will be alongside other events across the five districts in November to mark Archive Awareness.
